Like fire, knives or vehicles, it can be used for great good, and assisting humanity, reducing time-consuming work and drudgery, and even provide great entertainment and education - or, in the wrong hands, it could also be used as a highly dangerous weapon.

Here we attempt to weigh up the real risks of what AI will mean in terms of benefits, against the unimaginable harm it could bring to humanity, the environment, and ultimately, biological life itself.
